Employer Accreditation

Employer Accreditation allows New Zealand businesses to hire migrant workers under the Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) scheme. Immigration New Zealand (INZ) assesses each employer’s immigration history, compliance record, and financial stability. Accreditation confirms that employers uphold high standards of integrity, fair treatment, and worker protection.

Job Check

A Job Check is the next step in the AEWV process. Accredited employers must obtain Job Check approval from Immigration New Zealand before a migrant worker can apply for their visa.

The Job Check verifies that:

  • The role is genuine and necessary.
  • The pay offered meets or exceeds market rates for the position, considering job responsibilities, company size, and candidate experience.
  • The position has been advertised to New Zealanders first, if a labour market test is required.
  • This process helps ensure fair employment practices and supports opportunities for New Zealand workers while allowing businesses to access the skills they need from overseas.
