Requirements
  • Acceptance into a Course: Offer from a New Zealand education provider.
  • Proof of Funds: Sufficient finances for tuition and living expenses.
  • Health and Character: Medical certificates and police clearance.
  • Insurance: Valid health coverage for the duration of your stay.
  • Genuine Intentions: Your main purpose must be study, with plans to leave New Zealand after completion unless obtaining further legal status.
  • Study the course in which you are enrolled.
  • Work up to 25 hours per week if 16 or older (parent/school consent required for 16–17-year-olds).
  • Work full-time during holidays, including Christmas and New Year.
  • Rent your own accommodation or live with friends/relatives (underage students must stay with a legal guardian/parent).
  • Fee-paying students under 18 must provide a school letter confirming accommodation meets Pastoral Care of International Students standards.
